Mission Statement
Mondays at the Mission is a career and life skills program dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless youth living on Skid Row, in downtown Los Angeles.
Through weekly mentor-based classes, students meet doctors, lawyers, artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who share their knowledge, experience, and life stories, helping young people to build confidence, and pursue their dreams.
Our Approach
Mentorship
Every young person deserves a role model who expands their vision of what their life can become. From helping with homework and navigating conflict to offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear, our mentors provide meaningful support while reinforcing a message we want every student to hear again and again: you are gifted, and your talents deserve to be nurtured, shared and celebrated,
Empowerment
We equip students with practical skills for navigating life and building a future: Positive mindset, Critical thinking, public speaking and interview skills, goal setting, self-advocacy, collaboration and teamwork, entrepreneurship, networking, problem-solving, self-expression, confidence-building, and leadership. And in the end, our students teach us just as much as we teach them. They are, in so many ways, our greatest teachers.
Bringing the World to Our Students
When young people can see someone who has done what they dream of doing, the impossible suddenly becomes possible. We bring an extraordinary community of creatives, athletes, scientists, leaders, and changemakers directly into the lives of children who may otherwise never meet them.
